Welcome to the new website for Boy Scout Troop 201! Here you will be able to find all information about the troop, it's upcoming events, meeting plans, trips, photos, articles, and more! This site will be updated regularly with updates to keep you well informed of the Troop's activities. Boy Scout Troop 201 has three sources of income to support its programs throughout the year.
1. Dues:
Dues are collected every September, and are $50.00 per year for the first boy in the Troop, $40.00 for the second boy, etc. Dues support the following:
- Charter Membership fees ($10.00 per boy)
- Boy’s Life magazine subscriptions ($12.00 per boy)
- Liability Insurance fees
- All training costs for leaders and committee members
- All awards, pins, badges and advancement recognition
2. Fundraisers:
- Popcorn Fundraiser: sponsored by the Theodore Roosevelt Council - each boy is expected to participate by selling 20 units of popcorn. The troop receives up to 35% of the total amount sold.
- Holiday Wreath Fundraiser: each boy is expected to participate in making the wreaths and selling a minimum of 20 wreaths (at $10.00 each: $200.00). Families with two or more boys are expected to sell a minimum of 20 wreaths, and 10 additional wreaths for each additional boy in the troop
Proceeds from fundraisers cover expenses related to troop activities throughout the year:
- Lodging for all camping trips throughout the year
- Holiday Party: activity, gifts for scouts, food and beverages
- Junior Leader training workshops
- Weblos Moving-Up Overnight Campout and Ceremony: Moving-up ceremonies
- Equipment expenses: tents, propane, supplies
3.Trip/Activity Fees:
Fees for weekend trips and activities cover the cost of food, and help subsidize transportation costs.
In addition, new scouts in the troop pay a one time fee of $25.00 for a troop neckerchief (for “Class A” uniform), t-shirt and sweatshirt, (for “Class B” uniform) Additional t-shirts are available at $5.00 each.
