General Information:
- Scoutmaster will notify scouts whether Class A or Class B uniform is to be worn to camp.
- It’s the scout’s responsibility to insure all required and appropriate seasonal items are brought to camp.
- All items should be permanently marked with the scout’s name and “Troop 201”
- Flashlight and rain gear should be accessible at the top of the pack
- For backpacking trips, all personal gear must be stowed in or attached to the backpack: hands must be free to carry troop gear.
Required Items:
- Backpack
- Sleeping bag (or blankets)
- Ground cloth
- Poncho or other rain gear
- Jacket, sweater or hooded sweatshirt
- Extra boots or shoes
- Two changes of underwear
- Three pair of socks
- Two Troop 201 t-shirts
- Long pants
- Handkerchief or tissues
- Flashlight and spare batteries
- Scout Handbook, pen and pad
- Compass
- Wash kit (soap, toothbrush, etc.)
- Towel
- Knife, fork and spoon
- Mess kit
- Plastic bags
- Refillable water bottle or canteen
- Smaller backpack for day hikes
- First aid kit
- Matches, fire-starting materials ***
- Pocketknife ***
- Small amount of emergency money
*** After earning appropriate skill award

Warm Weather Camping:
- Short pants
- Hat with brim
- Sunscreen
- Swimsuit
- Sunglasses
- Non-aerosol insect repellent
- Mosquito netting
Cold Weather Camping:
- Thermal/Long underwear
- Extra socks
- Insulated boots
- Hooded sweatshirt
- Ski cap, gloves
- Winter sleeping bag
Optional Items:
- Wristwatch
- Camera, film
- Air pillow/air or foam mattress
- Fishing gear, etc. as specified
Items Not Permitted:
- Fireworks
- Sheath knives/machetes/axes
- Radios, Walkman, Game Boy
- Electronic games/toys
- Valuable jewelry, excess cash
